The Ghost Of YouFrom the 2004 album Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge This song has, appropriately (given its name), a somewhat haunting sound. The guitar introduction features a clever interplay between both guitarists, each panned a little to one side, and once the band joins in the guitars continue to weave in and out of each others' parts. The chord sequences are great, but best are the soaring lead vocals. In the choruses, these convey the stricken emotional theme of the song, the yearning for someone that is no longer around. The last chorus sees singer Gerard Way really push the melody higher in dramatic fashion as the song comes to a close. Brilliant stuff!
