Waves

This is an instrumental rock track off Guthrie Govan's Erotic Cakes album. The main riff to the song - a complex and meandering melody - does indeed have a "wave-like" quality to it. As is typical of Govan's tracks, the overdriven lead guitars give way to clean, reverbed guitars playing jazzy solos. The chord changes are interesting and there is a small dose of dissonance - again, another Govan trademark. But the soaring, blaring lead solos are the most impressive parts of the track, showcasing Govan's incredible talent on the guitar. It's no wonder he is considered one of the best guitar players on the planet!
