Radiohead
A British Oxford-based alternative rock band formed in the late 1980s, Radiohead had a surprise hit with "Creep" from their debut album Pablo Honey in 1993. However, the band proved not to be one-hit-wonders. Their next album, The Bends, won critical acclaim and showcased the band's talent for writing songs. With OK Computer came another surprise hit, "Paranoid Android", combining excellent songwriting with hooky guitar riffs and a dose of depression and gloom. Other (even more depressing) tracks from the album became hits too. This was Radiohead's peak, after which they have continued to release high quality albums, at times experimental in nature and often the subject of criticism, but less in the public eye. Despite the criticism, Radiohead have become recognized as innovators in the modern music scene. The band has been likened to bands such as Pink Floyd, R.E.M and The Beatles.
Radiohead are in the process of recording their 7th studio album. More information will be posted here when it becomes available.
